My Loves

This was my first attempt to do that editing trick where you merge a black and white photo with a color photo. I think it came out cute. You may be wondering how I got the white background in these photos. I just had the kids stand in the middle of the aisle at Target (or sit) and then angled the camera so that the background was only the white tile floor. The camera focused on the kids and blanked out the rest!

The first thing I noticed was Danya and Gloria's haircuts! They look so cute! I just recently cut 6" off my older daughter's hair. I wasn't too sure about the cut at first but we both like it now. Whew! :^)

The pictures are beautiful.

I love the black white and red look. What software do you use? I got adobe photoshop for christmas but have no idea how to use it. I start then get frustrated and quit 1/2 way through.

I've got adobe photoshop, too, and have been endlessly frustrated with it. That's why I've mostly been using Paint Shop Pro X. It just seemed more intuitive to me, although I know I haven't tried out all the features.

For Photoshop tips, google Jessica Sprague;s blog and her "Photoshop Fridays". She has great tutorials available to learn how to use PS and PSE.

I am taking an online digi-scrapping class with her right now, and while its great, I have learned more by just pressing buttons randomly. PSE has an "undo" function, so just open up a file and start playing!
