It's a unique experience making bread with your hands. These days a lot of people use bread makers or giant mixers to do most of the work for them. We really enjoyed digging in and getting our hands into the dough. The girls got to read the recipe, figure out how much we needed to make 4 loaves of bread, find the ingredients at the store (we didn't have yeast, shortening, raisins, or enough flour), and follow the recipe. They mixed it, kneaded it, and rolled it out. Danya and Gloria were so proud of themselves when the bread was finished!

Jess, I really need to know how you do all this while having a toddler and fostering other littlies. How how how? Homeschooling is becoming more popular in South Africa and 2 of my close friends have started. My daughter starts Grade 1 next year...
My absolute best suggestion to give yourself more time is to ditch the t.v. We only use ours for watching movies or educational videos now and it's amazing how much more time we have. Also, we teach our kids year round so that on a particularly crazy day we can skip school and just focus on what needs to be done.
