An Inside Look Into Our Big Crazy Adoptive Family!
Saturday, September 22, 2012
We always say that Katie and Karyie are "twinkies" when they wear matching clothes. But this time they got to be "THRINKIES" with their new friend, Michaela. When Michaela showed up at our house wearing her princess shirt, Katie and Karyie had to run and put theirs on, too. Michaela's mom, Susie, is our exchange student Polly's liaison for the exchange program. She checks up on her monthly to make sure she's doing okay and helps facilitate trips and activities Polly is involved in through the organization. We really like Susie and always have fun when she brings Michaela along on visits to our home.
I'm a 38 year old Christian mom of 10 kids. I have six girls; Danya age 15, Gloria age 14, Jordan age 13, Brianna age 13, Katie age 6, and our other 6 year old Karyie. My four sons include Michael age 12, Shane age 11, Kevin age 9, and Ryker age 4 months. I also was a foster mom for about 5 years. In 2009 we adopted two of the 33 kids we've fostered. In April 2012 we adopted three more! I've been happily married to the love of my life, Daniel, for 19 years!
For privacy reasons we cannot post identifying pictures of foster children. That's why their faces are covered or only the backs of their heads are shown. We also give them nicknames to protect their privacy.
The Mini Homeschoolers
Danya and Gloria are "The Mini Homeschoolers" in a series of YouTube videos where they answer questions about homeschooling from a younger perspective. These videos are based on the ones created by two funny homeschooled young men called "Ask the Homeschoolers".
