We hosted Polly as our foreign exchange student through a program called ETC. Actually, we started out with a different program that kind of fell apart just before she was supposed to arrive. Polly's family was able to get her switched over to ETC just in time. They held an orientation meeting a couple of weeks after she arrived.
It was interesting. Polly made a new friend who speaks Korean and has been an exchange student longer than Polly has. I met a kid from Portugal and managed to insult him by saying something about speaking Spanish... turns out they speak Portuguese in Portugal. Oops.
