An Inside Look Into Our Big Crazy Adoptive Family!
Saturday, August 25, 2012
Our kids' friend, Briella, invited us all to her birthday party at the Peter Pan Park. She's the cutie in blue with the ribbon on her shirt. Her mom, Rainie, is a good friend of mine. She's one of those people who will always volunteer to help when you're in need and is always involved in whatever is happening at church. She's just a joyful person that I love being around. Her daughter makes me think of that quote: "A girl is Innocence playing in the mud, Beauty standing on its head, and Motherhood dragging a doll by the foot." - Allan Beck
I think Polly was a little shocked that we were all throwing water on each other, but she joined in after the kids soaked her a bit. Poor Katie couldn't find her swimsuit, so she ended up wearing her leotard.
I'm a 38 year old Christian mom of 10 kids. I have six girls; Danya age 15, Gloria age 14, Jordan age 13, Brianna age 13, Katie age 6, and our other 6 year old Karyie. My four sons include Michael age 12, Shane age 11, Kevin age 9, and Ryker age 4 months. I also was a foster mom for about 5 years. In 2009 we adopted two of the 33 kids we've fostered. In April 2012 we adopted three more! I've been happily married to the love of my life, Daniel, for 19 years!
For privacy reasons we cannot post identifying pictures of foster children. That's why their faces are covered or only the backs of their heads are shown. We also give them nicknames to protect their privacy.
The Mini Homeschoolers
Danya and Gloria are "The Mini Homeschoolers" in a series of YouTube videos where they answer questions about homeschooling from a younger perspective. These videos are based on the ones created by two funny homeschooled young men called "Ask the Homeschoolers".
