World Drum Ensemble
At Options this year Danya has decided to take a drum class. While they learn new drum routines and techniques on practice drums, they are all working on making and designing their own personal drums. Danya has been painting, twisting ropes, stretching goat hide across the top and generally impressing me with all she's learning. I'll admit. I rolled my eyes a bit when I heard what class she wanted to take. A whole YEAR of banging a drum? But it's turned out to be more of geography/history/music appreciation class. And she's having a great time, which is what really matters.
I'm a 38 year old Christian mom of 10 kids. I have six girls; Danya age 15, Gloria age 14, Jordan age 13, Brianna age 13, Katie age 6, and our other 6 year old Karyie. My four sons include Michael age 12, Shane age 11, Kevin age 9, and Ryker age 4 months. I also was a foster mom for about 5 years. In 2009 we adopted two of the 33 kids we've fostered. In April 2012 we adopted three more! I've been happily married to the love of my life, Daniel, for 19 years!
For privacy reasons we cannot post identifying pictures of foster children. That's why their faces are covered or only the backs of their heads are shown. We also give them nicknames to protect their privacy.
The Mini Homeschoolers
Danya and Gloria are "The Mini Homeschoolers" in a series of YouTube videos where they answer questions about homeschooling from a younger perspective. These videos are based on the ones created by two funny homeschooled young men called "Ask the Homeschoolers".
