An Inside Look Into Our Big Crazy Adoptive Family!

Hair has become such a bonding experience for Karyie and I. There are sometimes tears, lots of laughter, and in the end, the pride of accomplishment. Karyie looks so beautiful and she knows it. She runs around the house showing all the kids her hair and poses like a little model for me. She's getting better at holding still, but still hates it when I snag a tangle. We've learned not to let her hair be in a free style for long because the detangling process is sooo much worse afterwards. I'm amazed that she can sleep with the beads and braids in her hair, but it doesn't seem to bother her at all. She's such a little diva. I guess she knows beauty is worth the work.
I'm a 38 year old Christian mom of 10 kids. I have six girls; Danya age 15, Gloria age 14, Jordan age 13, Brianna age 13, Katie age 6, and our other 6 year old Karyie. My four sons include Michael age 12, Shane age 11, Kevin age 9, and Ryker age 4 months. I also was a foster mom for about 5 years. In 2009 we adopted two of the 33 kids we've fostered. In April 2012 we adopted three more! I've been happily married to the love of my life, Daniel, for 19 years!
For privacy reasons we cannot post identifying pictures of foster children. That's why their faces are covered or only the backs of their heads are shown. We also give them nicknames to protect their privacy.
The Mini Homeschoolers
Danya and Gloria are "The Mini Homeschoolers" in a series of YouTube videos where they answer questions about homeschooling from a younger perspective. These videos are based on the ones created by two funny homeschooled young men called "Ask the Homeschoolers".
